Stage 1
For ages 18 and over
Venue: Aberdeen Grammar School, AB10 1HT
Time: Tuesdays 6.30pm - 8pm
(10 sessions total)
Fee: Pay What You Can, including free places that can be applied for
For budding actors, this weekly session is about building confidence and discovering the basics of performing in a friendly group environment. You will work with an experienced tutor to develop your creative performing skills whilst feeling safe and supported throughout.
This group is offered on a 'Pay What You Can’ basis, meaning you choose the price that is affordable to you. If any cost is a barrier, please contact us on hello@tenfeettalltheatre.com to apply for a free place.

Collective
For ages 18 and over
Venue: Greyhope Community Hub, Torry, AB11 8HD
Time: Thursdays 6.30pm - 8pm

Collective is a creative and social drama group for performers who want to build on their existing acting skills. Explore drama games, technique exercises and scene work while developing confidence, creativity and performance skills in a supportive, inclusive environment. Each term, the group will work towards an end-of-term invited sharing, giving you the opportunity to develop and perform work together.

Ten Feet Tall's Young Company
Venue: Woodside Fountain Centre, AB24 2QY
Time: Tuesdays 7pm-9pm

This is the place to meet friends and explore your performance skills. Led by an experienced professional facilitator, you will develop your performing skills and have a great time with likeminded people.

Writers Lab
A creative programme exploring the craft of playwriting
For ages 18 and over
10 weeks
Venue: TFT Hub, Carden Place, AB10 1UT
Time: Wednesdays 6.30pm - 8pm

Fee: £95 per term
Interested in writing for theatre? Writers Lab is a creative group for anyone keen to explore playwriting, develop their writing skills and bring ideas to the stage.
Starting by generating an idea and working towards a first draft, you'll explore character, structure, action, dialogue and plot through practical exercises, prompts, free writing and scene studies. Sessions will introduce different playwriting approaches and practitioners, while helping you develop, write and edit an extract of your own new work.
The Writing Lab is a space to play, experiment, share ideas and develop your writing alongside other like-minded creatives.
No previous experience is required - just a willingness to experiment and a desire to develop in the craft of writing. Sessions are 90 minutes and take place at Ten Feet Tall's Hub in the city centre, with free tea and coffee available.

Centre Stage 50 +
Daytime Drama and Acting
For ages 50 and over
Venue: Old Torry Community Centre, AB11 9QH
Time: Wednesdays 10.30am - 12noon

Fee: £95 per term of 10 weeks
Centre Stage 50+ is a creative and social drama group for adults aged 50+. Explore improvisation, drama games and devising in a relaxed, inclusive and accessible space. Meet like-minded people, have fun, build confidence and create stories together - no previous experience necessary.

The LAB
For Students, Graduates and Professionals only
For Ages 18 and over
10 weeks
Venue: Aberdeen Grammar School, AB10 1HT
Time: Tuesdays 8.10pm-9.50pm
The LAB is the heart of collaboration. It's a place to test, experiment, collaborate and explore new possibilities all the whilst keeping connected with amazing like-minded NE artists.
You can lead the group on sessions to test, play and develop your idea, or you can run a skills-based workshop to keep everyone well tuned with their performance skills. In return, you support and participate in other group members sessions.
What you can explore is totally up to you...it can be devising, new writing, physical theatre, acting technique, chorus/ensemble work - the list is is endless . . .

Ensemble Productions
This is the place to develop live performance towards a full production.
Focus on delivering quality performances and developing your craft, all the whilst having fun with likeminded people!
Rehearsals will take place weekly in evenings, so to accommodate participants work and care commitments and the final performances will be open to the public to come and see what a fantastic creative community we have here in the NE.

Encore! Script Reading Group
Encore! at Music Hall is produced by Aberdeen Performing Arts in association with Ten Feet Tall
Join us in our relaxed reading sessions where we will explore and discuss a great play. You don't need to perform and no advance reading is required, just be ready to discover the stories behind the notable text.
