Witch Hunt
Tales Of Persecution
February 2022
Kirk of St Nicholas (Mither Kirk)
Witch Hunt charts the trials and tribulations of those prosecuted for witchcraftin Scotland. From the traumatic tales of prisoners awaiting trial, chained up in the spire of the Mither Kirk itself, to the harrowing story of Janet Horne in the 17th Century, the last person in Scotland to be executed for being a witch.
Featuring excerpts from The Last Witch by Rona Munro (Casualty, Doctor Who, The James Plays), a haunting play that is a timeless study into misogyny and fear at the time of powerful, independent women.
