Scared to Death

Granite Noir 2024 Granite Noir 2024

February 2024
The Anatomy Rooms - Marischal College

Aberdeen is thrust into panic when a lifeless body of a child is discovered, sending shockwaves through the community.

Amidst the chaos and with no immediate suspect, the investigation takes a compelling turn as police and forensics meticulously assess what limited clues exist of the heinous crime.

Located in the Dissection Room of the former University of Aberdeen anatomy faculty, we reveal the details of this historic true crime that marked a pivotal moment for forensics in the justice system.

An exploration into the human condition, lurking in the darkest corners of society.

Unravelling the mysteries hidden in the shadows, where science, in its silent brilliance; speaks louder than words – we expose the intricacies woven by human hands, and speak truths of who, what, where, when, and perhaps … why.

Commissioned by Aberdeen Performing Arts for Granite Noir Crime Writing Festival 2024
